Re: Starlink: The Problem and The Sightings
There are no Starlinks passing in the Baton Rouge sky tonight brighter than magnitude 3.0. There are predictions for about eight Starlinks brighter than magnitude 3.5 passing from 9:15pm to 9:30pm CDT; please use Heavens Above to generate your list.

13 June Predicted Bright Starlink Passes
Between 9:10pm and 9:45pm CDT tonight about nineteen Starlinks are predicted to pass with magnitudes of 2.8 down to 2.6.
All of them will come from the southwest. All will peak in angular height from the horizon in the southeast; these peaks will average about seventy-one degrees. A binocular may help see these passes. Please utilize Chris Peat's Heavens Above website for more accurate information.

15 June 2020 Predicted Bright Starlink Passes
Between 8:32pm and 9:45pm CDT tonight two Starlinks are predicted to pass with magnitudes of 2.8 down to 2.7. I don't recommend attempt to spot them as the forecast is just not good enough. However, in anticipation of there being slightly better conditions where you are, you can go to Heavens Above to acquire more accurate information.

Re: Starlink: The Problem and The Sightings
There are two fairly bright STARLINK passes tonight...
*STARLINK-1175, magnitude 2.7 beginning at 7:07pm
*STARLINK-70, magnitude 3.0 beginning at 7:20pm
Between 5:55am and 6:15am CDT tomorrow morning about twelve Starlinks are predicted to pass with magnitudes of 3.0 down to 2.6.
All of them will come from the northwest. All will peak in angular height from the horizon in the southeast; these peaks will average about sixty degrees. A binocular may help see these passes. Please utilize Chris Peat's Heavens Above website for more detailed information; brightness of twilight should be taken into account.

Re: Starlink: The Problem and The Sightings
Almost 2000 Starlinks were in orbit by 28 February.
On 3 December 2021 China complained to the United Nations Committee on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space. China claimed its space station had to maneuver on 1 July 2021 and 21 October 2021 to avoid Starlinks.
On 7 February NASA submitted a letter to the FCC expressing concerns about SpaceX's plans to launch 30,000 more satellites...

SpaceX responded on 22 February, noting that Starlinks automatically deorbit after their service lives are completed.
From the date of this posting, anyone interested in seeing Starlinks pass over the local area should consult the thread "Observed Passes of Satellites, Rocket Bodies (etc.)" for the current year.
