RS Ophiuchi is currently in outburst. As of latest reports, it's about magnitude 4.8. As seen from Baton Rouge, RS Ophiuchi culminates at about fifty-two degrees.
Previous outbursts happened in 1933, 1958, 1967, 1985 and 2006.
