M105 is an elliptical galaxy, one of many galaxies in the constellation Leo. Pierre Méchain discovered it in March 1781. It lies 0˚24' east-southeast of the A-class magnitude 6.9 star HIP 52683. The HST has helped us understand that there is a fifty-million-solar mass object in the center of M105.
Dan Crowson contributed a nice image of M105 (using an Astro-Tech AT12RCT) to the June 2020 issue of Reflector.
The Milky Way is but one of billions.
