Padua is not even listed in The Starry Night Pro Plus as a potential small-instrument asteroid. However, it will be making news this weekend as it (for three to four seconds) blocks our view of the star 14 Cancri--or rather, blocks the views of those along a narrow band that passes through northern Mexico, southern Arizona and the Nevada-California border. Within 950 kilometers of that path, there is a possibility of a very brief dimming of 14 Cancri due to a satellite of Padua.
The event is predicted to take place at 12:15am or 12:16am CDT early Monday morning.
