2019 Quadrantid Meteor Shower
The International Meteor Organization is predicting a peak for the Quadrantids next month around 8pm CST on Thursday 3 January. Quadrantids are known for sometimes generating fireballs. New Moon is the evening of the 5th, which contributes to the possibility of seeing a little more than usual from this shower. However, an average duration of the shower is about four hours--meaning 6pm to 10pm for Baton Rouge viewing.
