Sky & Telescope is suggesting a view of the Andromeda Galaxy tonight. As darkness comes it is sixty-seven degrees up in the northeast. Remember, the Moon is waxing but right now only five days old. Danko states the transparency will be "above average" all night long, and the seeing will be as good as "poor" until 8pm CST.

Ralf Rohner combined a processed view of the Andromeda Galaxy and its environs with a mountain foreground seen from the same viewpoint at Arosa, Switzerland. The result is intriguing to say the least.

For those who have never seen it, HRPO personnel will be able to show most of the Andromeda Galaxy during the Lunar Halloween Party on Saturday the 31st. The light pollution is sadly an effective barrier at this time to a view of M31's majestic arms.
