101955 Bennu

Post by Christopher K. »

This assuming little thing will be the target of an amazing attempt (for the first time in human history) to recover material from the surface of an asteroid and return that material to Earth.

The time has come! Tomorrow at 4pm CDT, NASA Public and NASA Media will broadcast the live coverage of the TAG maneuver: the three chances OSIRIS-REx has to collect material from Bennu. Viewers will see and hear real-time control room video and mission audio.

On Wednesday the 21st at 4pm CDT will be the post-TAG briefing, followed by "NASA Science Live" at 5:15pm CDT, describing the importance of this attempt.

All of these events will be viewed at the Highland Road Park Observatory.
