Star Party Schedules for Remainder of 2020
We can expect several star parties (planned, usually annual, gatherings of amateur skygazers) to either be canceled or postponed. Almost always these events are set for New Moon times so that natural extra light is out of the way. At this time I don't bother with any of the listings, choosing to focus on happenings within a seventy-five kilometer (fifty mile) radius of south Baton Rouge. Often, Barry will mention Deep South though.

Most star parties thru the first 5 months of this year have been cancelled (exception being the Winter Star Party as it took place before the virus hit the fan, so to speak). Star parties will continue to cancel as time rolls on for obvious reasons. Needless to say virtually all, if not all, outreach events including Astronomy Day events have all been cancelled due to Covid 19.
