Yes, finally a new poll! I'm just as shocked as you are.
With Daylight Savings Time beginning this weekend (as of this post) the question always comes up about either ending or extending DST, or just leaving it alone. This affects astronomy of course in that having DST or not does determine how early or late you can go out to do your stargazing.
So, how do you feel about DST?

There are two bills headed to a Louisiana House Committee this Monday. Each bill would make Daylight Time year-round in Louisiana. Daylight Time could be quite deadly to the hobby of skygazing. At any rate, if I'm not mistaken the year-round experiment was tried in the 1970s and it wasn't very successful.

I don't remember anything about the '70s, but I do know that it was year round during World War II. And they called it War Time instead of Daylight Saving Time.
