Yerkes Observatory

Post by Christopher K. »

At the time of its founding in 1897 (and maybe it still is) Yerkes was the largest refractor in the world--a whopping one meter. Sadly, its storied history is now totally history, as Yerkes seems to be shutting down for good. Some want it to stay open, if not as a working site at least as a museum. Those who are interested in this issue, please contact former BRAS Treasurer Bob Sinitiere.
