There will be no Evening Sky Viewing for the general public at HRPO on Friday 19 March. Another BREC division outside of the one to which HRPO belongs is using the front of the facility property for a non-STEM activity. Apparently the maximum number of participants for that activity equals or exceeds the maximum number allowed for HRPO public skygazing due to virus shutdown policies.

Although Danko's current forecast for the regular viewing time for Friday lists the transparency as zero out of five ("too cloudy to forecast") and the seeing as two out of five ("poor"), HRPO personnel still usually have the facility open to the general public. There will soon be a meeting with representatives from the three owners of HRPO (BREC, LSU, BRAS) to insure the autonomy of HRPO as a skygazing-first facility.

The Remote Discussion will still take place at 6:30pm on Friday 19 March. The speaker will be Professor Kenneth Matthews of LSU; the topic will be "Nuclear Physics in Medicine". The internet connection instructions are at...

HRPO will be open to the general public on Saturday 20 March for...
*Summer Camp Meet and Greet from 9am to 1pm (http://hrpo.lsu.edu/programs/special2.html)
*Evening Sky Viewing from 7:30pm to 10pm
