HRPO is closed tonight, as it always is the day before American Radio Relay League Field Day.

Viewing will take place at HRPO tomorrow from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, and from 8pm to 10pm (weather permitting).

Tonight's lecture is titled "Journeys to the Moon"; it starts at 7:30pm.

Below is the NOAA forecast for HRPO's viewing time of 8:30pm to 10pm...

Danko's Clear Dark Sky states that during HRPO's viewing time the transparency rating will be "too cloudy to forecast" (0 out of 5) and the seeing rating will be "good" (4 out of 5). This evening's 20OGS operator was to be BRAS member Peter Lazar. However, there will be no viewing and HRPO will close at 9:30pm. If it is raining after 8:30pm, HRPO will close immediately.

There will be no viewing with the 20OGS tonight. The summer edition of The Edge of Night takes place from 8pm to 10pm. Viewing will take place on the viewing pads.

Danko's Clear Dark Sky states that during HRPO's viewing time the transparency rating will be "average" (3 out of 5) and the seeing rating will be "good" (4 out of 5).

Peat predicts that the HRPO location will see four potential visible passes...
*the Hubble Space Telescope, mag 1.7 beginning at 8:54pm
*the Aureole 2 rocket, mag 2.4 beginning at 9:02pm
*an H-IIA 202 rocket, mag 2.2 beginning at 9:11pm
*the Lacrosse 5 rocket, mag 1.8 beginning at 9:15pm

"Apollo--Mission of the Millenium", originally scheduled for the 12th at HRPO, will be presented tonight at 7:30pm by Tom Northrop.

This is a postponement date due to Hurricane Barry. HRPO originally was to be closed. Although the lecture will take place, there will be no viewing and HRPO will close at 8:30pm.

Tonight HRPO will be open from 7:30pm to 12:30am in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing. (The start of the event has been pushed back an hour due to inclement weather.) Below is the NOAA forecast for that time...
