Below is the NOAA forecast for HRPO's planned event, the NASA 60th Anniversary Party, from 6:30pm to 10:30pm...

Danko's Clear Dark Sky states that during HRPO's viewing time the transparency rating will be "too cloudy to forecast" (0 out of 5) and the seeing rating will be "bad" (1 out of 5). This evening's 20OGS operator was to be BRAS member Peter Lazar. However, there will be no viewing. If it begins to rain anytime after 6:30pm, HRPO will close earlier than 10:30pm.

Due to the inclement weather, The NASA Anniversary Party will end at 8pm. Our next viewing time will be Friday the 5th from 8:30pm to 10pm. Join HRPO then!

The presentation "Wonders of the Winter Sky" will take place at 7:30pm this evening; the speaker is BREC Education Curator Amy Brouillette.

Below is the NOAA forecast for HRPO's viewing time of 8:30pm to 10pm...

Danko's Clear Dark Sky states that during HRPO's viewing time both the transparency rating and the seeing rating will be "average" (3 out of 5). This evening's 20OGS operator is BREC Center Supervisor Jordan Cobbs. The 20OGS will be used, though the dropout will not be lowered as personnel are awaiting from a local company quotes for new hydraulic cylinders.

There is one predicted visible passes during the planned viewing...
*Lacrosse 5, mag 2.1 beginning at 8:48pm
HRPO will close at 10pm.

Danko's Clear Dark Sky states that during HRPO's viewing time the transparency rating will be "below average" (2 out of 5) and the seeing rating will be "good" (4 out of 5). This evening's 20OGS operator was to be BREC Center Supervisor Jordan Cobbs. However, the 20OGS will be not used, and viewing will be attempted on the front pad.

HRPO will close at 9:30pm; if it begins to rain anytime after 7:30pm, HRPO will close immediately.

Those who can may want to go early tonight to HRPO to catch a magnitude -3.6 pass of the International Space Station beginning at 7:09pm.
