Living in Space

Post by Christopher K. »

We have devoted a lot of research to the biological effects of microgravity on human beings--tissues, cells and individual proteins. Current NASA research includes an ongoing search for the origins of these effects, and the search for ways of mitigating them so we can live in space for long periods of time.

On Friday, 18 October at HRPO Dr. Vince LiCata will give a talk entitled "Biology in Microgravity". The talk starts at 7:30pm.

In addition to our current ISS, there will be soon probably more space stations, orbital tourism (remember, spaceports already exist!) and even before all of that, the Gateway. The Gateway will not be for civilians, but will be an important stopover for those readying for excursions to the lunar surface.
