The original idea was for last year's donation drive at HRPO to fund the purchase of a pair of Parshield outdoor floodlight shields. However, the Brooklyn company has graciously donated them free of charge after I said it would be used as a light pollution display. HRPO's status as a not-for-profit entity probably had something to do with the decision.
The shields come two to a box, either in off-white (#100, which is what I requested) or bronze (#200). They are basically 14cm x 14cm x 14cm, powder-coated and metal. According to Gary, a "long time amateur astronomer" and the one who shipped them, the shields will clip onto...
*TCP 19w PAR-38 Floodlight [1P3819]
*Philips 20w PAR-38 Reflector [20WMedPAR38ALTO]
*Feit 23w PAR-38 EcoBulb Floodlight [ESL23PAR38T]
*EcoSmart 24-Watt (120W) Bright White LED Flood Light Bulb [ECS 38 V2 WW FL 120]
He also said this was an older list and newer models may also work.

To celebrate both the year-round status of GLOBE at Night and the second Good Lighting Award from BRAS (given to the new location of Woman's Hospital), the Highland Road Park Observatory may have a temporary efficient lighting display soon. If so, patrons should look for these shields.
