On the 21st from 8:33pm to 8:49pm I took measurements number twenty-four through twenty-six of 2016...
*the parking lot of the Iberville Parish Library in St. Gabriel had an SQM of 18.84 [ID 18065]
*the corner of Louisiana State Highways 74 and 3115 had an SQM of 19.09 [ID 18066]
*I got an SQM in the parking lot of the Ascension Parish Library in Dutchtown and it read 18.67 [ID 16894]

There's still a few more hours (until midnight) of this data-collecting session. I plan to take at least three more measurements tonight.

It's crunch time, as they say! The constellation Perseus is the focus of the final GLOBE at Night session of the year, which runs from the 20th to the 30th.

Don't you and your family and friends want to see the Milky Way from Baton Rouge? Us too! Join us on Friday the 23rd at HRPO as we show patrons the location and layout of the constellation Perseus, and teach them how to report their findings from home to the GLOBE at Night website! HRPO will be open that night from 6:45pm to 8:45pm CST.

The number are in--and Louisiana has logged a measly seventy-five observations. I must say, there is no excuse for this. However, that is seventy-five more measurements than our state had before 2016, which can prove scientifically useful.
