Cosmic rays are an astounding arrival to Earth of actual manner at close tot he speed of light. Of course, cosmic rays don't target Earth--it's just a precious instance in observational astronomy of being able to investigate directly matter that originated from outside the Solar System...

Apparently, the rate of cosmic rays has increased in recent years, as shown by this graph generated by a once-weekly balloon launch performed by Earth to Sky Calculus and Dr. Tony Phillips...
