Spitzer was the first astronomical telescope to be sent into an orbit around the Sun; it was launched in 2003.

3 May 2017 was Spitzer 5000th day of work! A new video highlights six days in the life of the "astronomy robot". Spitzer has a circular band of space available to it as it keeps its shield and panels aimed at the Sun to protect its components from high temperatures and remain powered.

Here's the video...

August 25th will mark the fifteenth anniversary of Spitzer's launch. On Friday the 24th "Spitzer at Fifteen" will showcase the space mission and the major data gathered this past decade-and-a-half. The talk is at HRPO, begins at 7:30pm and is aimed at a general adult audience.
