What a constellation! Home to the orange beauty Arcturus, dozens of double and multiple stars (including the lovely Xi Boötis), the dim globular cluster NGC 5466--and the mysterious Nova 1860...which if it occurred may have been seen by only one person!
Boötes is north of Virgo, east of Canes Venatici and Coma Berenices, and west of Corona Borealis. Its brightest stars form a kind of kite shape.
Tiny points of light, with a magic all their own.
