Antares

Post by Christopher K. »

Antares is one of two brightest M-class stars in the sky (the other is Betelgeuse). This dazzling gem is set into the constellation Scorpius the Scorpion, a giant warped "J". The star's name means "rival of Mars" as it is easy for the uninitiated to mistake it for the Red Planet and vice versa.
