As with Orion, we're losing Taurus as we head toward mid-spring. The two most noticeable sections of Taurus are the beautiful and bright Pleiades Cluster, and the more spread out Hyades Cluster (with the brilliant Aldebaran in the foreground, superimposed over them). The magnitude 3.5, G-class Epsilon Tauri is within the Hyades.
Taurus also contains the first item listed in the Messier Catalog--the astonishing Crab Nebula, the location of a supernova explosion which took place in 1054.
Tiny points of light, with a magic all their own.
