Sky & Telescope's Bob King and Seiichi Yoshida are advising skygazers to keep alert for the brightening of C/2017 P2.
A week from tomorrow, on Friday 31 January, HRPO will present "Comet After Comet". The talk will give an overview of all the comets that are predicted to reach magnitudes visible from a binocular (with no light pollution) or a small telescope (with moderate light pollution). The talk has no admission fee and is for all ages. It begins at 7:30pm and afterward BRAS member Merrill Hess will operate the large 20OGS scope for nighttime viewing.
