This shower is active from 30 December to 10 January. The peak in 2018 is close to 4pm CST on Wednesday the 3rd, meaning the nighttime period of 3/4 January is best for Baton Rouge and the local area. Please keep in mind, it is predicted to be below freezing after 9:30pm and the waning gibbous Moon will have risen to thirty degrees at 9:57pm. It can be quite dangerous to be outside and immobile in freezing weather if you do not know and take all precautions.
