The activity on the surface of the Sun has increased from weak to mild. Active Region 2735 can no longer be seen; AR2736 has grown. Once again, I sketched with the Orion Skyquest 10" at 48x.

I encourage any with the appropriate equipment to view this activity within the next forty-eight hours.

The next planned solar viewing session at HRPO will be on Saturday 11 May from 3:15pm to 5:15pm. At least one BRAS member (perhaps two) will have his own solar viewing equipment on site.

There is mild solar activity on the Sun at this time. Active Region 2740 has a good deal of plage and Active Region 2741 has a large sunspot "cracked" into three pieces. BREC Program Aide Jacob Des Roches and I viewed this activity earlier today, and I'll sketch it after 4pm.

Anyone with the ability to view this activity should do so within the next three days.
