Many of the devices in the sources below are widely separated from one another by cost, time and complexity. However, they all have the same function--to keep your eyes safe while enjoying a view of our parent star! Many of the instructions mention a solar eclipse since that is the only event during which many people think to make one of these devices (sadly enough). All of these devices are good for transits and sunspots as well, in addition to just looking at the Sun.
