The last regularly-scheduled solar viewing time of the calendar year at the Highland Road Park Observatory will be Saturday 16 December from 12pm to 2pm. As usual, weather permitting there will be the Sunspotter, 10" Orion Skyquest and Corono Solar Max II. AR 2689 was pleasant to spy; there may be something similar on the 16th. Tony Phillips says today's Sunspot Number is fifteen.

At 4:01pm CST tomorrow the Sun will leave Scorpius and enter Ophiuchus.
