Apollo 7

Post by Christopher K. »

Donn Eisele, Wally Schirra and Walter Cunningham proved the worthiness of the command and service module. These tests paved the way for our trips to the Moon, which eventually led to the landings.

On Friday 12 October at 7:30pm, Former BREC Center Supervisor Tom Northrop will outline the successes of Apollo 7 for the audience at the Highland Road Park Observatory. The lecture is for a general adult audience and has no admission fee.

The current crop of astronaut candidates won't be going just to the Moon (back to the Moon)...they will be progressing to Mars. The application deadline for this round was today, but follow the news from these offices and see what becomes of this group. It might contain the first woman to go to the Moon, or the first man to go to Mars...
