Apollo 14

Post by Christopher K. »

The Apollo 14 mission lasted from 31 January to 9 February 1971. The crew members were Alan Shepard, Stuart Roosa and Edgar Mitchell. The Fra Mauro area of our Moon was the landing site.

We celebrate the forty-fifth anniversary of Apollo 14 early next year!

Yesterday, on the anniversary of his historic lunar landing, Edgar Mitchell passed away. I'll include a few slides on the 36-Day Display at the Highland Road Park Observatory. Godspeed, Edgar Mitchell.

Their Command Module was called Kittyhawk, and they investigated the Fra Mauro region (which, if it isn't visible tonight, should be by Thursday). We remember, but we look forward to the Artemis Mission. Apollo 14 has a nice view of Earthrise...
