Well, it occurs about every twenty years and the conjunction hasn't been this close for hundreds of years. The next Great Jupiter-Saturn Conjunction will be in 2080.

I sincerely hope noone misses this event; this will be the closest conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn since July 1623. So far the NOAA forecast predicts very good conditions for Monday evening twilight.

Hundreds of patrons and the media joined HRPO personnel at Burbank for this quite unique event. Just barely, all who attend within the time frame advertised got a chance at one or more telescopes and/or real-time laptop images.

On Friday 5 February at 6:30pm, HRPO will offer a remote presentation explaining the clockwork causing this periodic conjunction and outlining the wonderful Burbank event. There is no admission fee and the presentation is aimed at a general adult audience.
