During the fall of 2016 a one-time publication called Astronomy's 60 Greatest Mysteries was on the newsstands; Robert Naeye was editor. It came from Sky & Telescope (in January 2014 F+W Media acquired New Track, which owns Sky & Telescope...

The publication has sixty mysteries divided into six sections and pondered. The first section was Earth, and the first mystery of that section was the origin of all the water on Earth. The "guest responder", Linda Elkins-Tanton of Arizona State University summarized the current prevailing theory, which was that rocky planets like Venus and Earth and Mars probably outgasses the majority of the water that was in their early atmospheres and oceans, with only a small percentage added by cometary impacts.
